- Sign up (MathViz currently has lessons for students in grades 4 through 10)
- Complete initial placement problems (so MathViz knows your strengths/weaknesses)
- Choose an available lesson (based on your performance on the placement problems)
- Watch the short lesson video (most lesson videos are 2 minutes 30 seconds or less)
- Complete guided practice problems:
Answer is correct
- Correctly answer several problems in a row to complete the lesson (usually between 5 and 10)
- Assuming all other prerequisites are satisfied, the next lesson in the pathway is unlocked
Answer is incorrect
- Pay close attention to the feedback about why your answer is incorrect and how to fix it
- Rewatch the part of the video that demonstrates the proper technique
- Try again!
General Info
Users can practice an endless number of guided problems from completed lessons (and because MathViz generates problems randomly, it is not the exact same problems over and over!).
Once at least one lesson has been completed, users can opt to hone their skills, which helps them turn any weak spots into strengths by practicing their weakest lessons.
